Why Does It Have To Be
English P.E.?

There are many English schools that teaches English or P.E. / sports schools that teaches P.E. and sports. But why are we so focused on combining English and P.E.?

We believe that English P.E. is the way for children to learn a new language while enjoying the process of it.

We want them to know that learning English can be fun. Learning doesn't have to happen in a classroom setting at a desk. We also believe that this will be a key for children to continue learning the language - they will keep wanting learn.

English P.E. is designed to be the P.E. for childrens' future.

It isn't a traditional P.E. program that teaches specific sports to children who are already good at sports. We value growing our students' athletic abilities so they can stay fit for their future opportunities.

We also seek to widen the future of our students through English P.E.

English and physical skills are not the only things that they will learn at our academy. They will realise their endless possibilities and the future ahead of them. We encourage our students to be able to make decisions on their own so they could grow as human beings.

We believe that our English P.E. programs broadens the future of the children.

Our curriculums are designed to grow the possiblities of our students. We purposefully do not teach any specific sports so our children can adapt to any kind of sports in the future. We teach English so they will be able to study abroad or work abroad in the future. We strive to grow their communication skills so they will become an invaluable talent for the society. At some point, students of IGS Academy might become the one to solve International problems.

For the Future of Our Children.

Our lessons are constructed based on IGS Method, which was developed based on the curriculum that was recognised by SHAPE AMERICA, the International standard of physical education and ADAPT, an internationally recognised parkour program. Our passion is to grow our students into invaluable international talents by developing their communication skills, understandings of different cultures, self-understandings and decision making skills.

We believe that providing young children with various opportunities are crucial when it comes to education. We want them to be able to consider wide variety of options rather than clinging onto one thing that they are good at so they can choose what will be the best for them out of many possibilities. We think that this will also allow students to adapt to any situations in the future. However, in order for them to be able to "choose" their future, it is necessary to teach them the decision making skill too. This is where the concept of IGS Academy was born.

At IGS Academy, we also strive to grow the social skills of our students by allowing them to participate in team sports like football and tennis. We also provide a wide range of international exchange programs so our students will have opportunities to practice their communication skills.

Lessons are conducted under 100% English speaking enviroments.

We don't only learn physical movements, but we try to make our students think through quizzes given by the coaches.

We encourage our students to be vocal while engaging in physical activities.

We start by incorporating simple English words during the lesson and gradually raise the level of English used in class.

Sample Lesson Plans

1. Introduction

We explain what we are going to do in the lesson in English. Students are going to learn and understand new English words by shadowing coaches.

2. Practice

This is where we get moving through various games and competitions. They learn new physical skills by practicing.

3. Review

We review the English words and physical skills that we learned during the lesson. We encourage our students improve their communication skills by giving quizzes to each other.

Our Rules & Policies

Our lessons are fun. We praise our students for what they can do.

We work hard to make our classroom atmosphere "fun". However, it is important that our student knows the difference between the fun of playing and the fun of working hard. We understand this fine balance between "lessons that are just fun" and "lessons that are fun because you try your best".

Learning should be fun. We strive to motivate our students.

We do not always have to sit at a desk to learn English. Just like learning our mother tongue, you can study the language through physical activities. Children are going to be learning English in classroom settings in future anyways - so by learning it through physical activities, we would like them to know that learning language can be fun. We believe that this will be a shortcut for them to learn the new language too.

We do not force anything.

Forcing children to do something often don't work because they will end up hating what they are doing, and eventually this will become an obstacle in learning. We encourage everyone including the coaches and the parents to be patient so our students can have their own timings to challenge things.

We provide special opportunities exclusive for students at IGS Academy!

We host events such as visits to various International schools, Intercultural exchanges and visits to African embassies to provide our students with opportunities to learn about different cultures, religions and traditions.
